On November 25, 2023, in alignment with the National Strategic Plan of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to elevate Philippine Higher Education Institutions to world-class standards, CHED-CAR initiated a collaboration with Global Heights.

Initiated by CHED-CAR through Dir. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., this Education Affair convened discussions and meetings with the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in CAR which was opened by Ms. Michelle Membrere, the event’s spearhead and a member of Global Heights.

The event showcased talks from CHED-CAR, SUCs, and Australian schools. Subsequently, an open forum was held to discuss the opportunities available to students and the alignment of HEI curriculums.

Hosted by TESDA Region 2, the primary objective of the Education Affair is to explore potential collaborations between CAR schools and their Australian counterparts, enabling students to earn diplomas abroad while aligning with the programs offered by regional institutions.
Highlights of the event included presentations on programs offered by schools in partnership with Global Heights and SUCs.
Global Heights, an education consultancy agency in Australia and Bangladesh, played a pivotal role in facilitating international educational journeys for students/clients. The agency, in collaboration with various universities and learning institutions in Australia, presented opportunities for collaboration.

Dir. Anduyan of CHED-CAR, emphasized that such collaborations create opportunities for information and practice sharing. This, in turn, facilitates the internationalization of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) while providing Cordillerans the chance to pursue education abroad.

The Education Affair aligns with CHED-CAR’s internationalization flagship, “Cordillera to the World, Today, and Beyond.” Driven by the vast possibilities discussed and the broad scope of the meeting, this session serves as a pilot, with plans for subsequent phases involving Global Heights, SUCs, and other HEIs in CAR and nearby regions. The overarching goal is to foster a collaborative environment that extends educational opportunities beyond borders.
