In line with the Commission on Higher Education’s Strategic Plan 2023-28, particularly on the third goal, “World-class Philippine Higher Education”, the CHED Regional Office CAR has once again supported its HEIs by providing technical assistance, orienting HEIs with an internationalization Reputation and Visibility aspects.
This orientation on internationalization reputation and visibility is also a part of CHED-CAR’s project F.L.A.I.R. “Kuminwani”, or Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputations, which envisions to make CAR HEIs visibly strong on the global stage.
Earlier this October 23 and 24, the CHED-CAR technical team visited Star Colleges which is one of the youngest HEIs in CAR. On the following dates, the team also answered to Baguio Central University’s request.
The orientation focused on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to address the goal of preparing students, learners, and graduates to live and work in multicultural communities as responsible ASEAN and global citizens. This also includes contributing to the national innovation agenda that promotes economic development and global competitiveness.
One of the highlights of the activity is to check on HEIs if their vision, services, and activities are aligned with the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and their entire global visibility.
This coming October, CHED-CAR is scheduled to visit other HEIs to further help them improve their international competitiveness and institutional brands.
It is worth noting that this initiative has been motivated by the remarkable performance of HEIs in CAR this year. The region has the second-highest number of internationally recognized HEIs for their impact on students and the wider community, which was recognized by CHED International Affairs Services as a remarkable endeavor.
