To enhance the research capabilities of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST), the KABADANG: Research Publication Mentoring project by CHED-CAR took place from October 17 to October 19, 2023.
Under the guidance of Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., Director IV of CHED-CAR, the KABADANG Project is now being implemented by various institutions as part of their own initiatives. Currently, the KABADANG project is in its fifth year of providing research mentoring throughout the Cordillera Region.
This year, ASIST initiated a cycle of KABADANG to assist the institution in achieving its research publication goals and aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, SDG 9, SDG 16, and SDG 17.
Led by Project Leader Dr. Jimmy Guisdan Catanes, KABADANG focused on research publications that enhance institutional visibility on the international stage.
Joining Dr. Catanes as KABADANG mentors were Dr. Thelma D. Palaoag, Director of Innovation and Technology at the University of the Cordilleras, and Dr. Erlinda C. Palaganas, the Executive Vice President of the Asia Pacific Organization of Medical Journal Editors.
ASIST’s initiative in adopting CHED-CAR’s Project KABADANG aligns with their mission to elevate their standing in institutional conversion to universityhood.
