The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region, headed by Dr. Danilo B. Bose, OIC-Director IV, visited the three (3) autonomous Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Baguio City for the initial inspection on the implementation of the gradual limited face-to-face classes for health allied programs as stated in the CHED-DOH Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2021-01 on March 02, 2021.
The said visit is to guide schools in their preparation for the implementation of the gradual limited face-to-face classes for the following health-related degree programs: Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapy, Midwifery, and Public Health. Among the visited schools are the University of the Cordilleras, University of Baguio, and Saint Louis University.
Dr. Bose explained the provisions of the said JMC and emphasized the strict compliance to the indicated standards to ensure the safety of both the students and the faculty. Together with Dr. Bose, Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes, Education Supervisor II and in-charge in supervising health allied programs in the Region, meticulously checked the compliance of the visited HEIs on the standards and protocols indicated in the JMC.
The next visit will be a joint final visit wherein representatives from the Local Government Unit, Department of Health – CAR, and IATF will be present to decide whether the said HEIs will be marked as ready to open for the gradual opening of limited face-to-face classes.
